Spring Technical & Computer Courses

AutoCAD 2008 Training
Introducing the latest version of computer aided-design software for drafting and engineering.

Level I – Monday & Wednesday, Mar 5 – Apr 7, 6:30-9:30 PM

DEP Approved Water Treatment and Wastewater Operator Program
For the spring 2008 semester, CBI is offering a comprehensive water and wastewater operator course on the Main Campus and in Monroe County beginning January 22. NCC is also hosting the operator certification examination for the DEP on
May 16 and June 15.

Wastewater Operations I
Introductory course prepares operators and maintenance personnel working in the field for the state certification exam. Covers physical, chemical, and biological treatment along with operation of types of treatment units. DEP approved course . Textbook required from College Bookstore. Fee includes all other materials. Offered at our Monroe Campus from March 6-May 22, 6-9PM, at the Pocono Corporate Center East Campus. Fee is $375.

Water Treatment II
This Course is the f inal preparation of operators of water treatment plants for the state certification exam. Includes regulations, fluoridation, softening, demineralization, process wastes, maintenance safety, lab. Math review included. DEP approved course. Textbook required from College Bookstore. Fee includes all other materials. Offered at our Monroe Campus from June 4-August 20, 6-9PM. Fee is $375.

Water & Wastewater Exam
DEP c ertification exam for water and wastewater operators. Register from March 12th thru May 2nd, 2008 . Exams will be held Friday, June 13th, 2008 from 8:00am-Noon. Fee is $50.

Distance Learning Courses in Industrial Process Heating

This distance learning program is the result of collaboration between IHEA and ETAC/NCC to translate the IHEA home study course to a distance learning format, making it more readily available to members and non-members alike in an increasingly popular educational delivery method.

Advanced Industrial Process Heating
Designed to complement the fundamentals course. This course will provide the student with an in depth view of the control and efficient operation of industrial process heating equipment. Focus will be on a variety of oven, furnace and kiln types used in industry. The students will gain a general knowledge of instrumentation and control for efficient operation of furnaces and ovens in process heating. They will learn about the wide variety of refractoriness and insulation used in process heating equipment, as well as their operating considerations. The use of vacuum heat processing, recuperators, regenerators, gas atmospheres and quenching will also be presented. Particular attention will be spent on efficient operation of process heating equipment and methods to achieve cost savings.

Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating
Designed to provide an overview of combustion fuels, burners and control basics, and heat transfer in both combustion and electric furnaces. This course will help the student gain a basic understanding of heat transfer principles, fuels and combustion equipment, electric heating, and instrumentation and control for efficient operation of furnaces and ovens in process heating.
