We are launching a major new initiative to track the region's performance gap for a year report the trend and analyze its magnitude. We expect this information will be of interest to employers and will help the region's workforce development organizations respond more effectively. Borrowing a page from Dow Jones, the index will be based on the combined responses of a sample of area employers. We will collect the data and publish the PGI quarterly for the next year. If it proves to be of value to the community, we plan to expand the sample and extend the PGI for additional years.
